Annaji has taken inspiration from Swami Vivekanandaji and dedicated his life to the service of humanity at the age of 38. In his entire life, he has served for others. After his seventh standard he had to work for his family members, then joined Indian Army and worked for his fellow citizen. Then moved to his village and transformed it into a self-sustained village after struggling for decades. Which was an experiment and inspired by idea of Gandhiji. He had fought for many social issues by a non-violent method - Indefinite Fast. He used this Gandhian tool against the corruption which has been supported in the name of Gandhi. At this age of 74 Annaji is fighting against corruption without any fear. He understood Gandhiji's statement "First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win." Swamiji in his call to the nation said "Death is better than a vegetating ignorant life; it is better to die on the battle-field than to live a life of defeat." He is the man who is not only inspired by Swamiji,Gandhiji and others, he has demonstrated by implementing their ideas through his work.
Netaji once said “Freedom is not given, it is taken'”. So same way he is demanding 'Jan lokpal bill'. He doesn't want the version 'given' by the corrupt system but he is fighting for the ultimate one, to be 'taken' by people of India.
